Morgan
As Morgan Motor Company have always used third party engines, E10 compatibility can be split into two parts.
- Vehicle fuel system compatibility.
And
- Engine compatibility.
As the materials used in fuel systems may vary from those of the engine suppliers' own vehicles the level of E10 compliance will differ from engines.
Vehicle fuel system compatibility
*All CX generation vehicles are E10 compliant.
*All metal fuel tanks, steel or aluminium are E10 compliant.
*Rigid steel fuel pipes used on “Traditional” models are E10 compliant
*Rigid plastic fuel pipes used on BMW engine models are E10 compliant.
*Rubber fuel pipes, pre CX, are not E10 compliant.
Rubber fuel lines and seals should be carefully monitored for deterioration. Morgan motor Company recommend the changing of rubber should be swapped to Viton or Viton lined rubber (or other similar ethanol tolerant material)
Engine compatibility
All Morgan’s fitted with:
*A BMW engine are E10 fuel compliant.
*A Ford engine manufactured from 1992 are E10 compliant (note this is the year of manufacture of the engine)
*A Rover V8 engine manufactured from 1996 are E10 compliant
*A four-cylinder Rover engine are not E10 compliant.
*Any engine with carburettors are not E10 compliant.
If your vehicle is not mentioned in this list, please contact you Morgan dealer who will be able to advise.
